1. COOLING WATER CHEMICAL INDION 9040 Degradable Micro-Biocide for Control of Bacteria APPLICATION: INDION 9040 is blend of high potency Organo sulphur compounds specially formulated for the control of bacteria and algae species associated with fouling in closed system and open recirculating cooling water systems. INDION 9040 can be used in conjunction with either oxidizing or non-oxidizing bacterial control programs. INDION 9040 readily degrades in water and soil by the combination of hydrolysis, photochemical reaction and biological action. FEATURES: Ø Ready to use liquid. Ø Easy to handle and feed. Ø Broad-spectrum control. Ø Compatible with other treatments. Ø Not affected by presence of organics. Ø Will not persist in environment. Ø Dissipates in activated sludge. PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS: Appearance : Light Bluish Green Liquid pH as such : 2.5 - 4.5 Specific gravity at 25 o C : 1.00 - 1.10 DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Dosage: Add INDION 9040 separately to the system. Do not mix with other treatments. Initial Dosage: When microbiological slimes are evident, apply a dose of 50 to 100 ppm. Repeat until control is achieved. Badly fouled systems should be cleaned before the treatment begun. Subsequent Dose: When microbiological control is evident, apply a dose of 25 to 30 ppm in the system once a week, or as needed to maintain control. INDION 9040 should be fed at full strength in the cooling tower basin at a point of maximum water circulation. Tower bleed off valves should be closed to permit a retention time of four hours.
